USAID provides $70 million
to support exports and SMEs
Targets: Industry, tourism
agro-food, knowledge economy
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched a $70 million project to support local businesses in high-impact sectors and to help them boost their exports.
The five-year Trade and Investment Facilitation (TIF) project will be implemented by the international development company DAI Global.
“This project is designed to enhance economic opportunities by facilitating trade and investment in targeted business sectors, such as agro-food processing, manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, the knowledge economy and services,” said Mark Rostal, TIF’s Chief of Party at DAI Global.
TIF will partner with clusters of enterprises with high-growth potential that are facing challenges. It will also support the ecosystem stakeholders to improve the business and investment environment and to develop solutions to fund small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
