Campaigns on social media have succeeded in seeding doubt in the minds of citizens about the Corona vaccines, despite assurances and reassurances made by all scientific references in the world without exception. Kings, presidents, and celebrities took the vaccine publicly without suffering any side effects.

In a poll conducted by InfoPro Research during the peak period in number of cases in Lebanon, more than half of respondents, especially younger ones, expressed their unwillingness to receive the expected vaccine. Most of those who will refrain from vaccination attribute their position to their lack of confidence in the seriousness of the experiments on the effectiveness of the vaccine and its side effects. This calls on the concerned authorities, the medical community and the civil society to launch a serious awareness campaign to confront rumors surrounding the vaccine.

Pandemic risk is a top priority
The respondents said that the risk of the pandemic is their priority and overrides all other living and political concerns. The overwhelming majority of the public supports a general lockdown. They believe that the general lockdown has served its purpose, and they do not support increasing the number of exceptions to the lockdown, such as opening factories and supermarkets. More than half of the respondents assert that they did not leave their homes at all during the closure period. As for those who left their homes, a third of them used the official online application to obtain permission to circulate, and they found this platform easy to use.

Downtime
As for those who did not go out, most of them spent their time in front of television and behind mobile devices following up on political and health news on social media. As for culture and reading, it occupied only a small percentage of activities, perhaps because it was not available on television programs, or because people were preoccupied with their daily and urgent concerns, and perhaps also because of the lack of awareness of the ability of culture and reading to sharpen mental and psychological health.

The sample
The random sample was distributed over 750 families according to regional, gender, and age groups. The questionnaire was conducted from January 30 to February 2, 2021. It is striking that the response rates were close between regions and age groups, except for the appetite for receiving the vaccine.
