Energy Innovation Program, a partnership between UNDP, the European Union (EU), and startup hub Nucleus Ventures, has been launched. It is a platform designed to combine game-changing ideas and innovative solutions in the energy sector. Its aim is to contribute to an ecologically sustainable power generation – one startup at a time.

Five start-up teams will be selected and awarded grants to further develop their innovative solutions. Applications must be submitted before the end of April.

Nucleus Ventures (chaired by Naji Boutros and managed by Nadim Zaazaa) offers entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs, seed capital and access to funding to elevate ideas off the ground, and access to new markets, buyers, and business partners. It also helps participants develop their skills and knowledge through the program’s intense activities and entrepreneurial education.

Participants in the program will be accompanied by mentors and industry experts for coaching, as well as local and international partners to support their scaling efforts in regional and global markets, and most importantly helping them connect with potential clients to validate their innovative ideas and solutions.

The Nucleus program offers selected startups and SMEs cash prizes from $5,000 up to $100,000 in seed funding to help them kick-start their businesses.
