Sécurité Assurance said it has launched the ‘Telemedicine’ service which provides 24/7 remote medical assistance with every health insurance issued.

Telemedicine, which respects the confidentiality of the users’ personal information, allows patients to get doctor’s consultation, diagnosis, and treatment remotely through a specialized team. It allows patients to save time and money, and to significantly reduce the risks of getting exposed to infections including Covid-19.

Patients using Telemedicine can contact Sécurité Assurance’s medical team by scanning the QR code on the health insurance jacket. They then have to respond to a simple questionnaire and assessment to make sure a full medical history is provided. Afterwards, their problem is solved either by a professional nurse or a specialized physician.

“Patients can use Telemedicine for a variety of purposes including simple medical consultations, medical advice, laboratory results’ analysis, X-rays and MRIs’ results analysis, and many others. For example, if a patient had hypertension symptoms but didn't want to risk getting Covid-19 in hospitals or clinics, they may postpone their medical visit for later, but this may cause their condition to deteriorate and lead to catastrophic organ damage. In such situations, Telemedicine can be an alternative to the traditional medical consultation visit, while saving both time and money,” Sécurité Assurance said.

Anthony Khawam, CEO of Sécurité Assurance, said: “This new Telemedicine service comes within the framework of the company’s ambition to always offer a variety of tailor-made products suiting every budget, as it offers the junior single product that is dedicated for young single people, the special-priced product for families, and much more.”

Sécurité Assurance, whose capital exceeds $15 million, covers all scales of risks. Its reinsurance partners include Swiss Re, Lloyd's syndicates, CCR Re, and MAPFRE RE.
