Path Solutions, a provider of banking software, announced that it has entered into a partnership with Apliman Technologies, a telecommunications solutions provider. Through the agreement, Apliman Technologies would serve Path Solutions’ clients in Islamic banking with advanced telephony technology and phone banking services.

Path Solutions is a provider of technology and consulting services for banks, but its client base is largely made of Islamic financial institutions. It is based in Kuwait and has a research center in Beirut.

Apliman Technologies was founded in Texas in 1990 and is currently located in Beirut. It offers a set of services including voice and messaging solutions. According to the company statement, Apliman's products are running live at several banks including Bank Audi, SGBL, Credit Libanais, Banque Libano Francaise, and the Central Bank.

Path Solutions' officials said that the contract would complement the company’s existing set of software solutions in a new system called ‘iMAL*2Mobile’. The system allows financial institutions to respond to the customer demand for mobile-based capabilities using smart phones. It allows customers to conduct banking transactions through mobile web browsers. It also allows them to access their account positions and transactions history. The new system offers other services such as instant chequebook requests, fund transfers, and bill payments. It is compatible with various mobile operating systems including Android and BlackBerry.
