Emirati businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor said he will launch a TV channel that will be based in Lebanon. He did not specify when the project will debut.

Through his account on the X platform (formerly Twitter), he said: “We specifically chose Lebanon over other countries as the headquarters for our new television channel, with the aim of creating job opportunities for the Lebanese people, employing young men and women, and contributing to strengthening the economic and social conditions of the people in Lebanon. It is my duty, even if I do not achieve profits or gain any financial benefit.”

Al Habtoor said: “God willing, our new investment project will provide more than 300 job opportunities and positive returns for the economy and the fields of media and artistic production. I strongly believe in the creative Lebanese youth who love life and positivity, and I want to support them and their families and strengthen the media and economic sectors in Lebanon. The resilience of the Lebanese people is the result of a true source of inspiration for me, and God willing, our channel will be a platform to spread hope, happiness, and positivity again.”

He said: “We also communicated with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who promised to provide support and facilities to complete our investment project to the fullest extent.”
