Minister of Telecoms launches 3G service, prices at $19 for each 500 MBs
The Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui announced the official launching of the third generation (3G) internet services.
Sehnaoui said that the price for 500 Megabytes (MBs) is $19. He also said that a ten dollar package for 100 MBs will be available.
He said that the two mobile operators, Alfa and MTC, will announce the packages and prices for 3G subscriptions starting early November.
The 3G service enables users to enjoy high speed and quality performance on High Speed Internet Browsing, video services, and video calls.
The Minister said that the each of the two mobile operators is working to renovate 300 locations for offering the high-speed internet service.
Sehnaoui said that MTC will be ready to offer the service to its clients across the country by the end of December, while Alfa will offer the service to all regions by the end of May 2012.
