The Parliament approved a law allowing the government to grant a subsidy on fuel oil to public drivers.

According to the law, the government will pay an amount equivalent to the price of 12.5 plates of fuel oil, or diesel, per month to public drivers. The subsidy would be calculated through the monthly average of the prices of fuel oil and diesel respectively. The subsidy is valid only for three months (ending January 2012).

The law stipulated that the subsidy would automatically be suspended if the price of the fuel oil plate fell to LL25,000, and that of diesel to LL20,000 (or less).
