MTC Touch released its high speed internet 3G offers. The company said that 7,000 customers subscribed to the 3G technology during the first day of its release.

MTC’s service will cover Beirut, Saida, Tripoli, and Zahleh through 420 locations, out of a total of 850. The coverage will be expanded gradually so that it would cover all Lebanese regions by early 2012. MTC said that it has provided 50 locations with the Long Term Evolution technology, which raises internet speed up to 173 Mbps. The company said that it is also offering the high speed internet using a separate Data-Only SIM for use on tablets, like an iPad, (regardless if you are an mtc customer or not).

Alfa Telecom unveiled its 3G offers last week. The two mobile operators have released the same five packages for 3G service prices:

Both companies are offering a ‘Pay As You Go’ service for users. The service allows users to access the internet on their handsets without the need to subscribe to any of the monthly data plans at the rate of $0.5/MB.
