The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) and the Embassy of Italy signed, on October 13, a cooperation agreement for promoting local socio-economic development.

According to the agreement, Italy will grant the cabinet €2.4 million (around $3.3 million) to sustain technical assistance extended to the Ministry.

Through the agreement, the two signatories pledged to collaborate for implementing the objectives of the National Strategy on Social Development, through strengthening and reorganizing the Social Development Centers. The mentioned program will contribute to strengthen the Ministry’s ability to provide social services to the communities in the marginalized areas of the country.

According to the agreement, the funding mechanism co-finances local development projects promoted by civil society organizations and local administrations.
