The Ministry of Agriculture issued a decision setting the technical and sanitary conditions required for building and running slaughterhouses.

The conditions, identified by the decision, apply as requirements for registering the slaughterhouses at the Ministry of Agriculture.

The decision stated that the Ministry of Agriculture would send inspectors to examine the facility and file a report to the Animal Health Department. If the required conditions were met, the slaughterhouse would be registered at the Veterinary Department. If it failed to meet the specifications, a time notice would be given for the management to carry out the required adjustments. After the second checking, if the facility still did not match the specifications, the management would be given another time notice. If still failing to meet the requirements after the second notice, the slaughterhouse would be shut down.

The decision gave the already existing slaughterhouses a six months notice, starting October 26, to regulate its business in line with the new rules.
