UAE citizens will soon be
allowed to travel to Lebanon
Aoun and Bin Zayed agree to strengthen ties

including economic and diplomatic exchanges

Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation across several key areas, according to a joint statement issued following discussions between President Joseph Aoun and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of sharing expertise, with the UAE set to provide Lebanon with insights into its successful experiences in improving government performance and institutional excellence.

The two countries also agreed to ease travel restrictions. Travel of UAE citizens to Lebanon after taking “necessary measure,” which means not immediately.

President Aoun and Sheikh Mohammed further expressed a mutual desire to elevate diplomatic relations and agreed to increase the level of diplomatic representation.

The statement also announced plans to establish a joint business council to strengthen economic ties. Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development will dispatch a delegation to Lebanon to explore and evaluate opportunities for joint development projects.
