Tourism revenue down
16 percent to $4.7 billion
Almost 60 percent came from expats

Tourism receipts dropped by 16 percent to $4.7 billion in 2024 due to the war's impact on passenger traffic especially in the last quarter, according to the Central Bank’s Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Report for 2024.

Tourism revenue, which reached $1.5 billion during the summer of 2024, more than halved to $670 million in the fourth quarter of the year.
Expatriates contributed 59 percent of total tourism receipts. The largest share of non-Lebanese tourists was that of Iraqis (nearly 12 percent).
Outbound tourism spending by Lebanese traveling abroad, also dropped, falling by 5.5 percent to $3.5 billion.
