Investors show interest
in projects worth $7 billion
Include Arab funds and Lebanese
expats eyeing infrastructure ventures

Lebanese, Arab, and foreign investors, who have participated at the Beirut One investor conference, have expressed their serious interest in infrastructure projects worth nearly $7 billion, said Amer Bisat, Minister of Economy and Trade.
These projects are in all sectors including water, electricity, ports, airports, telecommunications, and tourism.
“The Lebanese showing interest in the infrastructure projects include both residents and expatriates. The residents are very experienced and they know these sectors very well because this is their specialization. We also look forward to turn expats from mere tourists and visitors to Lebanon into investors. Non-Lebanese investors mainly include Arab investors and Arab funds,” Bisat said. He said: “Investors are very interested in these projects but this is just the beginning of a process that takes time and that involves many further steps such as carrying due diligence and signing letters of intent and memorandums of understating, then launching tenders.”
The Beirut One event, organized by the government, was held on November 18 and 19. It attracted hundreds of attendants, including 150 from the Diaspora and international companies.
