MultiLane, a technology company based in Houmal (Aley Caza) has formed a joint venture with US automated test equipment giant Teradyne, in a move aimed at accelerating the development of next-generation test solutions for AI data centers and high-speed computing infrastructure.
Teradyne (NASDAQ:TER) is a leading global supplier of automatic test equipment and advanced robotics for testing semiconductors, wireless devices, and complex electronics. It has a $40 billion market cap.
The new entity, MultiLane Test Products (MLTP), will focus on meeting surging demand for testing critical high-speed data connections used in AI and hyper-scale data center equipment. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to customary regulatory and closing conditions.
MultiLane will contribute all assets related to its test and measurement business to the joint venture, while retaining its existing interconnect and data center test solution businesses. Teradyne will hold a majority stake in MLTP, with MultiLane maintaining minority ownership.
The partnership is designed to combine MultiLane’s expertise in high-speed instrumentation with Teradyne’s global market reach in electronics testing.
Together, the companies aim to deliver more comprehensive and agile test solutions spanning the entire compute infrastructure, from silicon and wafers to systems deployed in data centers.
“MultiLane was founded on the belief that high-speed connectivity is the backbone of modern computing,” said Fadi Daou, CEO of MultiLane. “By joining forces with Teradyne, we are creating a global platform that pairs our technical leadership with unmatched commercial scale, allowing us to accelerate innovation and better support customers facing the growing speed and complexity demands of AI and next-generation data centers.”
Teradyne President Greg Smith said the joint venture would strengthen the company’s ability to serve customers across the full technology stack, noting that MultiLane’s innovation in high-speed testing complements Teradyne’s semiconductor and product test businesses.
The formation of MLTP underscores the strategic importance of high-speed interconnect testing as AI workloads drive unprecedented data transfer requirements across data centers worldwide. For MultiLane, the joint venture marks a significant step in scaling its technology globally while remaining focused on its core strengths in high-performance connectivity and test solutions.
