The Central Bank (BDL) has issued new directives to commercial banks prohibiting the collection of proportional commissions on a range of basic banking services, replacing them with capped lump-sum fees in an effort to curb excessive charges on customers. The measures are effective immediately.
The caps are applied to fees on local money transfer operations, check collection, domiciliation of salaries and wages, and invoice domiciliation.
