The Port of Tripoli received the largest container vessel ever to berth at its docks.

CMA CGM EUGENIE stretches 366 meters in length and capable of carrying nearly 15,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), the vessel ranks among the world's largest container ships currently operating on major international shipping routes.

The port's ability to handle a vessel of this scale underscores recent improvements in its operational capacity and infrastructure. The successful berthing demonstrates that Tripoli can accommodate ultra-large container ships, a capability that could strengthen its competitiveness within regional maritime networks.

Port authorities described the event as a significant step in enhancing Tripoli's role in international trade and logistics. They said the achievement reinforces the port's strategic importance as a gateway for cargo movement in Lebanon and across the Eastern Mediterranean.

The arrival of the CMA CGM EUGENIE is also expected to support efforts to attract additional shipping services, boost commercial activity, and expand trade links with regional and global markets.
