The Warwick International Hotels (WIH) group has signed a management agreement with Beirut-based Pangéa beach resort.

The resort, located in the coastal town Jiyeh (south of Beirut), will be called ‘Pangea Warwick Beach Resort & Spa’. The new property will be open in May 2012, after the completion of the renovation works.

The vice president and chief operating officer of Warwick International Hotels (Middle East), Jamal Serhan, said that the group aims to make an impact in the Middle East through contracts already signed in Jordan and Beirut, among other locations.

"We are very pleased with the signing of this management contract and we are planning to actively pursue our expansion in this area; for this reason, we will establish an office soon in the region,” Serhan was quoted as saying.

Pangéa resort currently includes 20 villas. After the renovation, the facility will feature 70 new rooms. It will also include a lobby, a restaurant, a fitness center, tennis courts and squash courts, a water sports center, and a spa.
Warwick International has 50 hotels in Europe, North America, South Pacific Asia, and Africa.
