MTC Touch is planning to lower subscription fees for Blackberry users. According to Chief Commercial Officer at MTC Touch, Nadim Khater, Blackberry is losing market shares due to high competition from Iphones and Androids. Unlike the Blackberry phones, Iphones and Androids are equipped to function via the new 3G network.

The monthly subscription to the Blackberry Internet Service for 200 MB costs $27, while the monthly 3G internet subscription for 500 MB only costs $19. BlackBerry instant messaging prices were reduced last November from $40 to $27, and bandwidth caps increased from 100MB to 200MB.

“We’re working on an agreement with the Blackberry corporation in order to reduce the fees on the BBM service”, said Khater. He said that the Blackberry Company charges mobile network operators $10 for each Blackberry subscription.
