A new restaurant and coffee shop has opened its doors in Ramlet Al Baida. ‘Beit Wared’ is a partnership between two Lebanese businessmen, Bashir Mrad and Mohammad Srour.

The investment totaled around $1.8 million, $800,000 for decor and equipment, $550,000 for the annual rent, and around $500,000 for yearly salaries

According to co-owner Bashir Mrad, the new restaurant relies mainly on local customers for its revenue rather than on tourists. Mrad said that although the competition in the sector is strong, Beit Wared’s unique concept of combining a restaurant and a high-end coffee shop distinguishes it from its neighbors.

Mrad and Srour have also recently opened a new snack bar in Ain Mreisseh.

The two investors have been in the F&B business since 2001, when they opened ‘Layali Bhamdoun’ in the summer tourist hub of Mount Lebanon. In 2002 they opened ‘Lacita’, a café and restaurant in Downtown. They later opened a Lacita branch in Aley.
