Librairie Antoine will be ready to launch a new branch in Beirut Souks by April 2012. Sami Naufal, Chairman and CEO of Librairie Antoine, said that the “Beirut Souks branch will become the bookstore’s flagship and the next generation’s bookstore”. Librairie Antoine already has 14 branches across Lebanon.

Myrna Ateshian, Marketing Manager at Librairie Antoine, said that the Beirut Souks’ branch will bring a new concept to Lebanese bookshops, as it will feature an in-house cafeteria. She said that the bookstore chain is preparing a heavy launching event.

Librairie Antoine was founded in 1933 by Antoine Naufal. In 2008, the bookstore took over Naufal Publishing, a publishing house founded by Pierre Naufal (Antoine’s brother). In 2010, Librairie Antoine founded Hachette Antoine SAL in a joint venture with Hachette Livre (France).
