Branded products of Fair Trade Lebanon (FTL), an NGO dedicated to helping farmers and small food producers market their produce, will be available in the local market starting May 12.

Philippe Adaimy, a member of FTL, said that the NGO’s products were initially intended for export rather than for local consumption. He said that TSC will be Fair Trade’s partner in selling these products in Lebanon.

FTL products will first be made available at TSC Signature in the Beirut Souks, and later at all other TSC outlets in the country. “We will later be working on introducing the Fair Trade culture to all local supermarkets,” said Adaimy.

Fair Trade Lebanon, part of Fair Trade International, buys agricultural produce and food products from farmers and small food producers at a fair price and then sells them locally and in export markets.
