Prime Minister Najib Mikati urged cooperation at the local level to restore the country's image as a favored tourist destination, in line with the initiatives launched by the Ministry of Tourism.

The ministry recently unveiled a program to promote tourism, including a massive media campaign. “Our goal is to change a certain image associated with Lebanon. But this is no easy task,” said Minister of Tourism Fadi Abboud.

The campaign will see the broadcasting of television commercials through both local and international media outlets. The Euro Sports channel will air 700 commercials promoting Lebanon for over three months. ‘An Eye on Lebanon’, a report featuring the country’s attractions, will be aired on CNN in August. Local TV stations will be screening short interviews with key business figures on a daily basis to promote tourism and investment.

Last week, the ministry launched ‘Shou Fi Bi Lebnen’ with the private sector, a campaign that aims to promote events and other activities that will be held in Lebanon during the summer.
