The Lebanese Businessmen's Association (RDCL) urged merchants to stop dealing with postdated checks when performing commercial transactions, and use debt vouchers instead.

The RDCL held a seminar to discuss the risks of using postdated checks when making commercial payments. “Postdated checks are used very frequently in commercial transactions, but this payment method involves much risk, including potential insolvency,” the RDCL said.

The RDCL called on the State to eliminate the postal stamps from debt vouchers, which is worth 1.5 percent of the value of the voucher.
