Beirut’s hotel occupancy at 67 percent in May

Hotels in Beirut saw an occupancy rate of 67 percent in May, compared to 58 percent in May 2011, according to Ernst & Young’s Middle East Hotel Benchmark Survey report.

The hospitality sector in Beirut posted a better performance in all five months of this year, compared to the year before.

The average room rate at Beirut hotels stood at $200, almost unchanged from last year, while rooms’ yield rose by 14 percent to $134.
