Central Bank assets were up by 5.8 percent at end June from the start of the year, and were up by a modest one percent from the previous month (May) to reach $74.3 billion. Figures released by BDL today (July 2) showed that its foreign assets (excluding gold) jumped by a monthly seven percent to reach $35.2 billion following a swap of $2 billion-worth of local currency debt holdings with newly issued Eurobonds from the Finance Ministry.
