A temporary tourist bureau will be set up at the border crossing in Masnaa, said Minister of Tourism, Fadi Abboud. The office will provide visitors with information on available hotels, occupancies, and prices. Abboud called on all hotel and other tourist-related institutions to provide the ministry with its information.

Abboud said 30,000 Syrian visitors have crossed into the country in the past week. “The tourism sector is making effort to ensure that (these visitors) receive good quality services at a fair price,” he said.

Occupancy rates in hotels and furnished apartments, mainly in mountain areas, reportedly rose in the past few days following the massive influx of Syrian families.
