Lebanon's energy and water minister Gebran Bassil has signed a contract for $70 million of financing from the French Development Agency, or AFD, for a local sewage project that will be launched at the end of 2013.

The $200 million project, which will be implemented in Keserwan, will involve setting up sewage systems that will include plants, networks and pumping stations, Bassil said.
