A new psychiatric hospital will be built in the town of Betromin, Koura. The new sanatorium specialized in psychiatric and mental illness will be operational by mid-2013. The hospital is owned by Dr. Rashed Salem Succari.

The hospital will cover an area of around 3,000 square meters. Investments in the project will reach $1.5 million. Construction will begin within six months. “The building and the rooms will be constructed according to international standards,” Succari said.

The hospital will be managed by Succari, and three other physicians. It will employ around 20 people.

Succari earned his experience working with three hospitals in Tripoli, the Islamic Hospital, Haikal, and Shifaa. “There is a shortage in psychiatric hospitals in this region,” he said.

The hospital consists two blocks. The first, with 15 beds, for mental illness, and the second, with seven beds, for Alzheimer patients. The hospital will accommodate patients with mental illness and Alzheimer. It will also admit out-patients, of age below 30.
