Stock clothing retailer ‘Brands for Less’ will be soon opening its fifth local branch along Jdeideh highway. The Dubai-based store has outlets in Ain el Remmaneh, Qasqas, Bir Hassan, and Jnah.

“We are planning to open new stores in Aley, Tyr, Jounieh, and Jbeil,” said Claude Nemer, country manager of Brands for Less. Nemer said the expansion plan is associated with the economic situation: “Despite the latest incidents, we still have faith in the local economy.”

According to Nemer, profits have fallen this year along with the drop in consumers’ appetite: “The headquarters in Dubai is granting us discounts on gross purchases to keep the brand name in the market.”

The Jdeideh branch will have a total area of some 500 square meters, divided over two floors. Investment into the rented store does not exceed $60,000.

Brands for Less offers imported end-of-season European brands, mainly from Germany. It is the exclusive local agents for the German Tchibo brand.

Nemer said the store caters for clients from all classes: “Top notch customers constitute around 20 percent of our clients, including some 15 MPs.”
