The winter resort in Zaarour is set to undergo major renovation, with an estimated investment of $70 million. The plan aims at expanding and upgrading the ski resort, said Carole El Murr, financial manager.

Zaarour Ski Resort is owned by Gabriel El Murr. The renovation plan will turn this small country club on the western side of Mount Sannine into a resort covering a total area of 55,000 square meters. It will include a new club house, a hotel, lodges, and several restaurants. The revamping process is already underway.

According to El Murr, the plan will be implemented in several phases. This winter, visitors will enjoy an improved experience on the ski tracks and slopes. “Equipment and ski stations will be shipped in from France and are meticulously compliant with safety standards,” she said. The project will be fully completed by 2014.
