Babel, the Lebanese fine-dining restaurant, will have a franchised branch in Qatar by September 2013. Afkar Holding, the company behind Babel, is also planning two additional outlets for Qatar. “We will be monitoring the operations of the franchised outlets,” said Dory Rizk, Chairman of Afkar Holding. According to Rizk, the company has an ambitious expansion plan for the region: “We will be heavy franchisers in the region.”

Locally, Babel will have a third local branch in Amchit by June next year. The new branch, located along Amchit’s seaside, will offer a more affordable menu than its two forerunners, Babel-Dbayeh and Babel-Zaitounay Bay. The venue will be able to accommodate up to 500 customers all at once. Around $5 million will be invested in this venture.

Afkar Holding is also promoting its new concept of ‘Twin Box’, a casual diner first initiated in City Mall, Dora. In January, the company will open its second Twin Box outlet within KidzMondo, the edutainment park currently under-construction next to BIEL.
