Banks’ assets grow by seven percent at end-September

The banking sector’s consolidated balance sheet stood at $148.36 billion at end-September, up by 7.18 percent year-on-year.

The banking sector maintains high liquidity. Total customer deposits rose by 7.7 percent y-o-y to $124 billion. Deposits’ dollarization rate dropped to 64.7 percent, from 66 percent.

Loans to the private sector grew by nine percent y-o-y to $42.29 billion. The ratio of loans to deposits rose to 34 percent, compared to 33.6 percent a year ago.
