MoU signed to establish Balaa Dam

A memorandum of understanding was signed with Iran’s Ministry of Energy to establish a water Dam in Balaa and a nearby potable water treatment plant . The Iranian government will fund the project, expected to cost $40 million.

An Iranian firm will be tasked with planning and managing the dam. Construction will be undertaken by a local firm to be assigned at a later stage.

The execution of the dam will take three years. The project requires Cabinet approval.
