Activity in the Port of Beirut was mostly on an upward path so far this year, somewhat attributed to diverted trade activity from other disturbed routes.

Port revenues during the first nine months reached $128.7 million, marking an eight percent increase year-on-year. These revenues are the highest the Port had seen since 2004.

The number of containers rose by 8.7 percent to 477,000, excluding transshipment. The total tonnage of merchandise handled went up by 6.3 percent to 5.34 million tons.
