GlobeMed, the healthcare services firm, has recently signed a collaboration agreement with France’s public hospitals chain, Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), one of Europe’s largest hospital conglomerates.

Through the agreement, GlobeMed will have the right to refer to AP-HP medical and surgical cases from the Near East and Middle East regions. Elia Abdel Massih, international health services manager at GlobeMed Ltd., said: “The agreement involves a chain of 37 public university hospitals located in Paris and covering all kinds of ailments.”

GlobeMed Ltd. has 11 franchisees in the region, of which GlobeMed Lebanon, formerly known as MedNet. These franchisees act as third-party administrators for medical services. They mediate between insurance companies and healthcare providers, including hospitals. The companies serve more than 80 insurance companies, social security funds, and other insurance schemes, and have agreements with around 500,000 healthcare providers around the globe.

“Our firm will act as a facilitator between the (French) hospital and the client,” Abdel Massih said. GlobeMed will be offering a wide range of services to patients including, for example, concierge services (transfers to hospitals and hotel accommodations). Services also include providing medical reports to facilitate visa issuance, as well as translators and interpreters. “Patients with difficult medical cases are already being sent (at the AP-HP),” said Abdel Massih

GlobeMed Limited is owned by Delta Near East Holding, Group SLF (Holding) and Mounir Michel Kharma. Its board members include MP Michel Pharaon, Roger Nasnas, and Mounir Kharma.
