Download speed makes good progress

Speedtest.net’s Net Index report said Internet download speed made significant progress during the November 5 - December 4 period, rising to 2.31 megabits per second (Mbps) from 2.12 Mbps between August 20 and September 18, 2012. The country ranked 154th globally, slipping by three positions, but maintained its 13th position regionally. With an upload speed of 0.42 Mbps, the country ranked 176th globally, down by five positions from the previous period.

Hong Kong is the top performing country worldwide (41.97 Mbps download speed and 27.79 Mbps upload speed), while the United Arab Emirates has the highest download (12.95 Mbps) and upload (5.49) speeds in the Middle East.
