Value of cleared checks drops slightly in first nine months

The value of cleared checks in the first three quarters of 2012 reached $52.9 billion, down by 1.4 percent year-on-year.

According to figures issued by the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL), the value of cleared checks in the local currency decreased by 5.6 percent to $9.9 billion. The value of cleared checks in foreign currencies dropped by a slight 0.4 percent to $42.9 billion.
