The Lebanese American University (LAU) acquired a new land beside its campus in Jbeil. The land includes nine separate lots. Christian Oussi, Executive Director of Media and Public Relations at the LAU, said the purpose of obtaining the land is to expand the university’s faculties and add more departments, namely for research, as well as auditoriums. He said the new land will also be used to build more dorms.

“The LAU plans to increase the number of students on the long term,” Oussi said. The number of students at the LAU hems around 8,300, including around 5,500 students in Beirut.

The LAU has ongoing expansion projects. “A Faculty of Medicine will be launched in the Jbeil campus as of the beginning of this spring,” said Oussi.
