The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Beirut (CCIAB) is seeking to develop bilateral trade with Uruguay. The issue was discussed between Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Mohamad Choucair and the Ambassador of Uruguay.

“Trade between Lebanon and Uruguay is still weak, and we are trying to sign trade agreements with all Mercusor countries (Argentine, Brazil, Peru, and Uruguay),” Choucair said. These agreements intend to remove customs fees between Lebanon and these countries. “Mercusor is a big market that hosts a large Lebanese community, and a huge array of goods could be exported to these countries such as food, electrical generators, and jewelry,” Choucair said.
