Kuwaiti Fund fosters rural development
Eleven agreements with Relief Commission

The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed with the Higher Relief Commission (HRC) new development agreements. Ibrahim Bachir, General Secretary of the HRC, said: “The agreements are executive protocols of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with KFAED.” Nawaf Dabbous, Resident Representative of KFAED, said: “The projects will be funded through a $1.9-million-grant offered by Kuwait.” The two sides signed 11 agreements.

The projects include the restoration of infrastructure in Wadi Khansa in Marjayoun, the rehabilitation and equipping of an orphanage in Baalbeck’s Ersal, and the purchase of electric and solar energy appliances and heating equipment. The allocation will also fund drilling wells in Minieh and Dinnieh, the installation of irrigation systems in Shebaa and Hasbaya, and equipping Ftouh-Kesrewan Governmental Hospital and Kabrikha sports field in Marjayoun. Another agreement was signed for paving roads and installing lighting systems in Hanawey, Tyr.
