The Beirut City Center (BCC) has attracted 400,000 visitors so far, one of the highest footfalls in the region, according to Majid Al Futtaim Properties, owner of the project. The BCC started its operations on April 4.

The 60,000 square meter shopping and entertainment destination is expected to attract an even larger audience when fully operational. Carine Nehme, Marketing Manager at Majid Al Futtaim Properties, said they are expecting huge impacts when the mall is fully ready: “Only 40 percent of the restaurants are open so far. The rooftop eateries are not yet open and only seven out of 17 movie theatres are operational.” More retail stores will open gradually. The mall is still awaiting flagships such as Mark & Spencer, Karen Millen, and Victoria's Secret.

The mall features over 200 specialty stores in total, with over 40 restaurants and cafés, including a food court with 16 diners and an open-air rooftop terrace with 12 destination restaurants.

The BCC represents an investment of $350 million. The center is part of a $2 billion investment plan for the country by Majid Al Futtaim Properties over the next seven to ten years.
