LibanPack is extending its consultancy services to Arab countries. The center is a non-profit institution that aims to develop packing and labeling techniques that match international requirements. Fadi Gemayel, President of LibanPack, said: “LibanPack recently became recognized in Iraq, Sudan, Jordan, Palestine, Oman, and Egypt.” The center is in contact with stakeholders in these countries, including chambers of commerce and ministries.

“The center will hold awareness sessions about the role of packaging in increasing the volume of exports to international markets,” said Gemayel. He said: “These countries can also benefit from the services the center offers to the local market, including designs and preferred packaging sizes.” LibanPack can also advise companies on labeling techniques. Gemayel said: “Many products are sent back because they are not adapted to the destination country’s packaging requirements, so the center can guide companies in this regard.”

LibanPack recently launched the ‘Star Pack 2013’ student competition aiming to reward the best design idea for an already marketed product. “This reward encourages creativity among students who will also get acquainted with a large number of small and medium companies,” Gemayel said.

LibanPack was previously funded by a Swiss institution. “The center is now self-funded through fees earned from consultations,” said Gemayel.
