The third annual ‘Grow My Business’ competition was launched on May 14. The competition is an initiative by the Beirut Traders Association (BTA), in collaboration with the MIT Enterprise Forum – Pan Arab Region, and Bank Audi.

The competition targets SMEs with expansion plans. Trainers will coach selected SME owners and guide them in developing appropriate business plans which would help their business grow. “Our goal is to encourage SMEs to grow and create more employment opportunities for young people, so they would remain in their homeland instead of emigrating to work abroad,” said Nicolas Chammas, Chairman of the BTA.

A jury will select the top 25 candidates on July 9. The winner of the competition will be announced towards end-September and receive a LL50 million grant. The other 24 finalists will be invited to attend guidance sessions for up to two months.

Chammas expects high rates of participation in this year's edition of ‘Grow My Business’, with a higher quality of applicants .

The winners of last year’s competition were 'ADTech', 'Olive Trade: House of Zejd', and ‘Wixel Studios’.
