Looking for franchisees in the GCC

Big Star International Clothing, local agents for Big Star, Tally Weijl, LTB, and Redskins, will be franchising in Jordan and Egypt this coming September.

Edmond Morcos, Business Development and Operations Manager, said the first expansion phase includes two franchised Tally Weijl outlets in Egypt, and one in Jordan.

Morcos said the Egyptian market has a relatively high demand for casual clothing brands such as theirs. As for Jordan, franchisees actually approached Big Star International Clothing, asking for their brands.

Later phases include openings for Big Star and LTB. “Branching out our portfolio spreads the risks and helps our strategic economy of scale,” said Morcos.

Big Star International Clothing is eyeing multiple regions to expand their market share. The company is currently looking for franchisees in the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait.

The company had closed a branch in the KSA earlier, due to complications with its Saudi partner. Morcos said that this time they will be looking for a franchisee with previous experience in retail.
