The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) will launch two projects to improve its information systems. The first project consists of automating 50 services offered by NSSF. Another project will link pharmacies electronically with the NSSF’s main center, which will be connected to the fund’s different offices.

The NSSF said that these projects will accelerate medical coverage transactions because all medical forms will be entered electronically. This will facilitate procedures and increase the fund’s productivity, leading to better income regulation. Automation will allow individuals and companies to register or revoke subscriptions, or request memberships electronically instead of visiting NSSF centers.

The cost of both projects will be funded by the NSSF. The projects will be executed within a year after consulting the technical committee and securing the board of directors’ approval.

The NSSF will launch additional projects in the future. A plan to link hospitals and doctors with the fund’s administration electronically will allow subscribers to conduct additional procedures online, using an NSSF card.
