Local fine eatery Babel will be inaugurating a new branch in Amchit, ‘Babel Baher’, next week, said Dory Rizk, Chairman of Afkar Holding, the company that owns the restaurant.

The new restaurant is a 500-seats venue on the Michel Sulaiman Boulevard, close to Mhanna sur Mer. The eatery’s indoor space can accommodate 200 dining guests. It will feature a more affordable menu than those of its other bracnhes, Babel in Dbayeh and Babel Bay in Zaitunay Bay. Nearly $5 million will be injected in the new venture.

Babel will be franchising their concepts in the Arab World with the Al Shaya group as the master developer. By 2015, Babel will have branches in Kuwait, the UAE, and Qatar. The size of the investment in each venture will be announced at a later stage, and will depend on the restaurant’s style.

Rizk said that they may be opening in standalones as their concept necessitates large space, but in-mall premises are also studied.

Babel has recently received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website. The certificate is awarded to businesses that rank among the top ten percent of establishments worldwide, based on travelers’ feedback.

Rizk said that this certificate is an additional incentive for their business and will be of great support in their expansion.
