Hajjar Enterprise Company (HEC) is expanding its wood factory in Ghazir from 800 to 2,500 square meters. The company specializes in wood furniture, kitchen fittings, doors, ceilings, and flooring through its subsidiary HEC Wood.

The company will also open a new factory for aluminum in Safra to manufacture aluminum products such as windows, doors, and curtain glasses. The factory stretches over 500 square meters.

Alain Asmar, Sales Operation Manager at HEC, said: “The increase in demand from real estate projects was the reason behind expanding our factory and establishing a new one.” The new factory will supply the company’s real estate development subsidiary, HEC Contracting, and increase the company’s retail offering. “About three quarters of our products are catered to local real estate projects,” said Asmar.

The wood factory’s production capacity is worth about $700,000 annually. The two factories will also fulfill the developer’s needs abroad. About 25 percent of HEC products are exported, mainly to Jordan and Erbil, and the company is trying to tap more Arab markets, according to Asmar.
