The word scramble mobile game ‘Scrab It’ made its way to Top Five of the Word Games category in the US App Store, as well as in the overall Games category in countries across the Arab world. The game was downloaded over 200,000 times in its first week of release.

‘Scrab It’ is developed by Game Cooks, founded by brothers Lebnan and Arz Nader. The company also created ‘Birdy NamNam’, another successful game that totaled 1.5 million downloads in just six months since its release.

According to Lebnan Nader, being on the top of the Android and Apple markets internationally means more than just additional income. “It means more appreciation, and a big boost for us to always sharpen our skills and create continuously better products,” said Lebnan Nader.

“We develop our games for an international audience, so basically we are competing with all game developers worldwide.”

Nader said that the games market is huge, and can still accommodate more developers. “Demand for games is increasing by the day, so even with thousands of developers, demand will still surpass supply.”

Game Cooks are currently working on deals to migrate their games to screens aboard airplanes and other modes of transportation, and portable pads in general.

The company is shifting their focus towards Europe and the US where they get multiple times the number of downloads than from the Middle East.
