A temporary overland transport station was inaugurated in Bahsas, Tripoli to regulate transportation of passengers by bus and taxi, and reduce traffic congestion inside the city.

The 8,000 square meter station will provide a free stop for public transport drivers until the completion of a larger planned station. It was funded by Tripoli merchants and the Internal Security Forces Directorate General.

Shadi Al-Sayyed, Head of the Union of Drivers in the North, called for stricter measures to combat illegal competition due to counterfeit ‘red’ public transport license plates.
